today we went canoeing. first we jumped into the lake and swam around and practised getting up back on to our canoe. then we canoed to the other side of the lake and had a brake. Then we had 3 different races back to the truck. we were in a canoe together and we got 4th, 1st and 2nd place. we had soo much fun canoeing! then we went back to the camp. and had a swim and then unch. our next activity was cooking. we made sweet and sour chicken and green curry chicken. It was really good :) we’ve been having lots of fun so far :)
Today we went canoeing and we cooked. When we were canoeing we had to jump off the canoe to see if we could get back on again, some could, some couldn’t. In cooking we cooked sweet and sour chicken and green curry chicken. It was really nice and spicy and we had so much fun =)
today we went canoening. it was so fun because before we went out with our friends we had to play a game witch made you think alot about how to hold the stick and where to hold it. when we got to the island we all waited and sat around talking to eachother. on the way back our boat fell over and we had to take all the water out:(
in the end is was a really fun day but we all got sunburn:):):)
Some other groups didn’t go canoeing. Some did a high ropes course, including a flying fox, which was a favourite! The students were really supportive of each other, and most rose to the challenge and completed at least one of the stages.
Other activities were an alleged 15km trek through the jungle (took about 2 hours), archery (no one should volunteer to be William Tell’s son!!), the slippery river scramble where we got deliberately drenched. (Parental warning: serpent sighting ahead…) Miss Healey’s group had a brief encounter with a scaly friend which we gave a wide berth!
Thai cooking was a hit (ask your kids to do dinner on Saturday night!??) as was free time in the pool.
The heat of the day broke with a tremendous thunderstorm about 4pm, in the midst of afternoon activities, which curtailed some and made others that much more exciting.
The food has been plentiful and gastronimically gorgeous, if the long line for seconds (and thirds!) is any indication.
We’re currently riding out the storm in the restaurant with a range of evening activities including keeping a raw egg suspended one metre off the ground using recycled materials.
No major illnesses or injuries to report, just stacks of great photos and plenty of smiles.
We’re all looking forward to the next few days - see you just after midnight Saturday morning, because we WON’T be having any flight delays!!!!
2day and yesterday was really fun and it was a great experience. We went canoeing and won all the races, and today we went on the river scramble. It was awsome the camping was cool.and ya.
Last night, there was a lot of rain at the National Park. It was fun because we got to do activities indoors and Derwent camped out in the rain. Today we had cooking lessons as the first activity we learnt how to cook Sweet and Sour chicken and Green Curry. The green curry was very spicy depending on how much curry paste we put in.
so far camp has been really great fun we have been canoeing my canoe flippped over we have been cooking andmade really nice food and we have also been camping.today we did the river scramble. camp is reaaly fun.
Yesterday we went on a jungle trek for more then 15km. It was tiring but we got there in the end feeling proud. Last night Megan camped and it was pouring down rain. Today we went to a cooking class and learnt how to cook green chicken curry and sweet and sour chicken. It was yummy and spicy.
mark ate all the sweet and sour chicken in cooking class
This is a camp not a hotel. it rained on tuesday the night i had to sleep. it is ok.
Liam- So far I have done 3 out of six activities which are a 16 km trek (Mark exadurated), hi ropes coarse and Ty-cooking. My favorite was the hi ropes coarse so far, which at the end had a flying fox. The trek, I did NOT find tiring. After lunch I am doing canoeing!! Tomorrow I am doing the river scramble and the archery!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mark-This camp is pretty fun. I managed to do things i would’ve never done like the high ropes course. Even though we had to trek, like, 20KM and nearly died at the high ropes course (approx. 12m high), I had fun and will come here again sometime. And i didn’t eat ALL of the chicken! i only ate 5/8 of the chicken!!!
The high ropes corse was excellent but we are depressed because there was a thunderstorm so we missed out on the best 2 sections of the corse.
but all in all we are having a great time L.O.L ;D :)
Hi camp is great but the high ropes was soooo scary i spent like 8 minutes trying to launch myself off the platform! but in the end it was great!!!The food is great and i love the activities. the trek was cool to we saw snakes and heaps of ants. I found the camping challenging because of the bugs everywhere. Lots of Love
The camp was fun and had alot of adventure in it from high ropes to treking to river scrabling. The rooms were big with 8 beds and a toilet
last nigh murray spen the night in a tent, it was really fun but our food didn’t turn out to be very nice.
We really liked the river scramble because the water was a really nice temperature. The water colour was cool and and all the natural water slides were great fun. We saw a snake and lots of crabs. The forest was awesome!
i eally enjoyed camp because of its numurous activities. one thing that was really fun was the river scramble because the water was really cool and refreashing.
yer camp has been pretty good so far we have just come back from river scramble which was awsome maybe even better than high ropes, any who we are just about to have lunch now and then after that we will finishes the day oiff with archery!
This camp is sooo awesome!!

I also came back from river scrable and had lots of fun this camp is so cool and fun. its also lots of frogs that are everywhere.. there are also lots of doggs everywhere.
We have done 5 of the 6 activities and so far we have really enjoyed it. some of our favourites were the river scramble and the cooking. we have really enjoyed our time here and think the staff have done a wonderful job.

the camp is exellent and activies…….even better!!!!!! we both liked river scramble(not scrable james!) because it was a challenge and we got to be in a cold water :) today is RAVE PARTY gonna be awesome!
Now I am no longer depressed because me and my group were able to go on the zip line and it as awesone I wish we could do it all again.
canoeing was great because when miss Beg jumped off and she couldn’t get back in it was hilarious and she was a great poser. Ms Beg held our boat together with her great sence of Humour.
Toby (the instructer) was a great laugh
but I did lose my hat that Toby thought was awesone, when I was swimming. But it dosen’t matter because I had a great time.
It has been a fantastic week. The students have all thrown themselves (literally) into the activities and we have had a lot of people challenging themselves and trying something they thought they wouldn’t be able to do. My personal favourites have been the thai cooking, my elegant canoe re-entry (see Jessie’s comment!) and the river scramble .. floating round in a waterfall pool in a rainforest is hard to beat. The camp staff have been so friendly and accommodating and everything has run so smoothly. Looking forward to our Bangkok day tomorrow!
all is well over at the wild lodge! activities are great and also widely ranged, our favourite activity had to be the river scramble :) as it got us very active as well as totally wet. We also had loads of fun sliding down mossy rocks and falling over those in our path. The thing we were most greatful for was the kind and friendly guides that showed us the way, this comment is not only directed to the guides for the river scramble but for all of the staff. I think we on behalf over the year sevens on the amazing Wild Lodge adventure that we are all very greatful for all the work and effort put in to make this the best camp ever =)
